Interbike Vendor Spotlight: Specialized

October 3rd, 2008 by Ron Callahan View Comments

We covered the 2009 Roubaix SL2 back in the summer, but Specialized brought their entire 2009 line to Interbike.

The S-Works Transition does not change much from last year, but Spesh is happy to tell you that it was ridden to the 2007 Ironman World Championships by Chris McCormack. McCormack is looking for a repeat at the 2008 edition that takes place this weekend in Kona, Hawaii.

There is a new Toupe Team saddle. Not a whole lot of new technology here, either, but it is said to be a little lighter and a little more “pro” than previous models.

There are a lot of changes in the mountain bike side of the company:

  • The S-Works Epic has been re-worked, and you can get a complete bike weighing as little as 21.5 pounds
  • The Era FSR is an all-new fast and light performance bike for women
  • The SX is all mountain rider Darren Berrecloth’s ride of choice and also underwent a redesign.
