Bouyges Telecom and Euskaltel-Euskadi receive UCI Certification

December 17th, 2008 by Ron Callahan View Comments

Bouygues Telecom and Euskaltel-Euskadi, the last two teams waiting for the renewal of their 2009 Pro Tour license, finally received their certifications from the UCI. Euskaltel-Euskadi received a 2 year license and Bouyges Telecom was approved for a year. The number of teams registered is now eighteen, as in 2008. Sixteen are the same as last year with CSC, now Saxo Bank, and Saunier Duval, now called Fuji Servetto. The Gerolsteiner and Credit Agricole teams were dissolved. Garmin is a new addition and the Slipstream and Katusha (formerly Tinkoff Credit Systems) were both listed on the continental circuit last year.
