March 6th, 2009 by Al Fresco View Comments

The German cycling site radsport-news.com is reporting this morning that they have confirmation from reliable sources that the UCI will recognize the AFLD’s two year ban against Stefan Schumacher.

With this ban in effect, Schumacher will be banned from international competition until February 22, 2011. UCI President Pat McQuaid will make the announcement this afternoon at a press conference on the eve of the Paris-Nice race. It is also expected that the UCI will formally roll out their biological passport anti-doping program, and it is expected that at least one rider may be facing a doping case based on the blood profiles.
