Newsflash: Luca Paolini called to appear before CONI
The Prosecutor for Anti-Doping for the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) has summoned rider Luca Paolini to appear for a hearing on April 28th at the Olympic Stadium of Rome. The hearing is related to criminal investigations conducted by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Bergamo, making this most likely related to the “Oil for Drugs” scandal.
The hearing will also cover the “findings from surveys carried out” by the same anti-doping prosecutor.
I’m curious if this is truly “Oil for Drugs” or if it is the first of the prosecutions that will come out of the UCI’s biological passport program.
