- Take this for what it’s worth. I’m sue that it’ll be twisted around: Alberto Contador says that he considers Lance Armstrong to be “just another member of the team” and “our relationship is correct and normal”
- Contador has downplayed his chances for the Dauphine Libere, saying that he is using the race as preparation for the Tour de France and that he has been out of competition for a while.
- Johan Bruyneel says that the sponsors of Astana have not made all of the necessary payments and that the riders will continue to wear the jerseys with the sponsors blanked out.
- Registration for the 2009 USA Cycling Masters Road National Championships, slated for June 28-July 4 in Louisville, Ky. is available at Sports Base Online through 12:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, June 21st. Members are encouraged to register now to avoid a late online registration fee increase of $25 per event that takes effect on June 7th.
- Laurent Jalabert has been named the manager of professional teams in France. He’ll be assisted in this task by Bernard Bourreau, national coach for over 20 years.
