Boonen v. Tour de France to be heard on Thursday
Sportwereld.be is reporting that Tom Boonen’s case against the ASO will go before France’s highest court (the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Nanterre) on Thursday and that a decision could come as early as Friday.
Lawyers for Boonen said last week that the case would hinge on the EU’s right to work policy and that they would argue that the ASO was keeping Boonen from rightful employment. Another article on the Sportwereld site points out, however, that Boonen and the ASO do not have an employee/employer relationship. The article seems to go on tom imply that the case might be better oriented around discrimination against Boonen’s personal issues.
