Levi Leipheimer to ride wine country with Trek Travel

Trek Travel’s California Wine Country trip just got a boost with a visit by three time Tour of California winner Levi Leipheimer on one day of the trip.

On the six day, five night trip, cycling will be paired with fresh cuisine for every mood, exclusive wine tastings, and luxurious accommodations. Tour participants will have the option of riding anything from leisurely afternoon loops to a long, challenging ride through the hills with Leipheimer.

Tour members can expect to be pampered by the Trek Travel people. Trek Travel specializes in luxurious accomodations and food, and riders get to ride the latest in Trek bikes as well. The company has worked hard to find the best guides as well as plenty of unique local experiences.

Leipheimer will join the ride prior to heading to his hometown of Santa Rosa, California to host the King Ridge Granfondo on October 3rd. Gran Fondos are a long distance, mass-participation cycling event – not a race – that welcomes professional, amateur, and recreational cyclists of all abilities. While they are very common in Italy and other parts of Europe, this is new to the States.
