Garmin announces extensions and transfers
Garmin announced today that Tom Danielson has extended with the team through the end of 2011. Danielson will do both the road race and the time trial at the Worlds along with his future Garmin teammate Tom Zirbel. Danielson had been racing in the Vuelta and had been as high as 4th place in the General Classification. He dropped out of the race today after 80 km, joining his Garmin teammates Christian Meier and Ryder Hesjedal in preparations for the Worlds.
The team also announced the signing of Swedish cyclist Fredrik Kessiakoff to the team. Kessiakoff comes to Garmin from the Fuji-Servetto squad. Kessiakoff is currently racing in the Vuelta and will also represent Sweden in the World Championships. Kessiakoff started his career as a mountain biker before switching to the road.
