Tour of Oman derailed by the swine flu

The Tour of Oman has been removed from the 2010 race calendar.
In current economic times, races have been taken down by financial difficulties, but this time the cancellation is said to be attributed to the swine flu. Eighteen people in the country have been killed by the disease and there are said to be over two thousand active cases.The cancellation was announced by race organizer Eddy Merckx.
It’s expected that the race will resume in 2011, in conjunction with the Tour of Qatar.
