Cadel Evans to be star of Gran Premio Città di Stresa

Recently crowned World Champion Cadel Evans will be the star of Sunday’s Gran Premio Città di Stresa time trial on the western shore of Lake Maggiore in Italy.

Sylvester Szmyd will be the first to roll down the start ramp at 10:30 in the morning, then riders will roll out every 90 seconds until the departure of the last six riders. Rinaldo Nocentini, the Italian star who captured a yellow jersey in the Tour; Damiano Cunego, Italy’s captain for the 2009 World Championships in Mendrisio; Ivan Basso, who lives in the area and rides these roads almost every day; Marco Pinotti, Italian time trial champion; and finally Evans, who will take off at 11:07.
