Euskaltel-Euskadi goes into 2010 with 24 riders

Euskaltel will roll out in 2010 with 24 riders and a mandate from the Basque government that doping will stop. Spaniard Beñat Intxausti of Fuji-Servetto is the most recent signing to the team. Among the five departures include Inigo Landaluze and Mikel Astarloza, out for doping positives.

New to the team is the U23 road champion Romain Sicard, who lives in a Basque region of France and joins his Orbea Euskaltel teammates Jonathan Castroviejo, Miguel Minguez and Daniel Sesma that are also coming on.

Additions: Romain Sicard, Jonathan Castroviejo, Miguel Minguez, Daniel Sesma (all Orbea), Beñat Intxausti (Footon-Servetto), Gorka Izagirre (Contempolis-AMPO)

Retirements: Markel Irizar (Radio Shack), Matthew Spring, Inigo Landaluze (both suspended for doping), Josu Agirre, Andoni Lafuente (target unknown)

The squad: Samuel Sánchez, Igor Antón, Javier Aramendia, Jorge Azanza, Sergio de Lis, Koldo Fernandez.
