One of the most innovative products at Interbike this year was Look’s new Keo Blade Carbon Ti pedal. The Keo Blade Carbon Ti is the latest in Look’s long history of state of the art innovation. The linear spring rate carbon blade of the Keo Blade Carbon Ti pedal replaces the traditional retention spring and provides enhanced cleat engagement for increased security and performance. It also allows Look to create one of the lightest pedals on the market (less than 95g with the Ti axle).

The pedal also features the widest foot platform on the market. It’s steel contact plate is 31% larger and 17% wider than the Look Keo Carbon, providing increased comfort and power transmission. In addition, the pedal includes a larger axle than the Keo 2 max and 2mm of Q-Factor adjustment while still providing excellent cornering clearance.

The linear spring rate of the pedal provides very positive action on both click in and click out. While the tension is not adjustable in the same manner as previous Keo pedals, the pedal does come with two different blades to adjust the entry tension.

The Keo Blade Carbon Ti pedal will be available in January and it will retail for $500.

Also new for 2010 is the Keo 2 Max pedal. It is the second generation of the Keo line and replaces the Keo Sprint model. It too has a larger axle than its predecessors and offers the same Q-Factor adjustment as the Keo Blade Carbon Ti. The Carbon model is the same weight as the Blade Carbon Ti as well.

The Keo 2 Max is available now and retails for $260 for the compressed carbon model and $180 for the glass fiber model.

Look_595_USA

The Look 595 is their top-of-the-line model and the bike of the Cofidis squad, and I couldn’t pass up a picture of their 595 USA model. Like all of the 595′s, this frame is the benchmark for lugged technology frames. It combines Look’s premier
technologies like the compressed carbon dropouts, butted and multishaped tubes, Nanotube infused lugs, the forged carbon bottom bracket, and their integrated patented vibration dampening E Post, making it ideal for competitive cyclists. The 595 is very lightweight at only 1040g with an uncut seat tube. Frameset weight including the fork is only 1390g.

The 566 is an ideal frame for long distance cyclists. The flat top tube and sloping geometry provide more comfort. Our patented “X-Design” twisted chainstays and wishbone filter vibration and shock that can easily fatigue a rider over a long ride. The oversized bottom bracket shell improves lateral rigidity. The single-piece frame is very light at 1100g. Frameset weight is only 1450g.
