In today’s news, signings at Liquigas, Voralberg-Corratec and Xacobeo Galicia; Cadel Evans thinks 2010 will be Lance Amstrong’s year; Alison Powers moves to Value Act Capital and more… The news:

• Liquigas will start 2010 with 28 riders. Croat Robert Kiserlovski (Fuji-Servetto) and the 20-year-old Italian Elia Viviani (Liquigas Sport Marchiol) are the newest additions, but in total, nine riders (including 5 neopros) are coming to the team. Eight riders are departing.
• Austria’s Vorarlberg-Corratec Team has announced the extension or addition of seven riders. Austrians Christoph Sokoll and Josef Benetseder, the Swiss riders Silvère Ackermann and Reto Hollenstein, Slovenian Matic Strgar and the Italian Andrea Capelli all extended their contracts for one year. Capelli’s compatriot Piergiorgio Camussa is the first signing for next season.
• Xacobeo Galicia has signed U23 time trial silver medalist Nelson Oliveira. The 20 year old rode for the small Cidade de Lugo team in 2009.
• Bergamo, Italy has formed an organizing committee to bid for the World Championships in 2015. Their first meeting will be held on November 24th.
• Cadel Evans told the AP that the professional peloton should expect “bigger things” from Lance Armstrong next year, adding “we’ll see Armstrong at another level in 2010.” Evans is still waiting to hear if BMC will get a wildcard for the 2010 Tour de France, but if they do not, he says that the team has “all the capabilities to prove we deserve a place.”
• With 30 of the 42 events in the series now complete, James Driscoll and Maureen Bruno-Roy are leading the men’s and women’s standings in the 2009/2010 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Racing Calendar with 364 and 225 points respectively.
• MOA/Santini will supply the kits for the Vacansoleil team next season. Fans of the team will be able to purchase replica clothing through Santini’s network of dealers or on the Vacansoleil team website (www.vacansoleilpct.com).
• Alison Powers had a very successful 2009 season, winning the the Redlands Bicycle Classic and Joe Martin Stage Race in 2009 and wrapping up the year with the season-long Women’s Prestige Series and National Racing Calendar individual titles. She’ll move from Team Type 1 to the ValueAct Capital Team for 2010 as Team Type 1 focuses more on promoting athletes with Type 1 diabetes.
• Yesterday, we learned that Davide Rebellin has been asked to forfeit his silver medal from the 2008 Olympics. Today, news came that Stefan Schumacher has been removed from the official results list as well.
• The family of Frank Vandenbrouke has decided to forego a toxicology analysis of his body. “We take peace with the results of the autopsy that was conducted in Senegal,” said his mother, Chantal Vanruymbeke. She added that the test won’t bring him back and that they are content to let him rest in peace.
