BMC Racing is ready to go

January 30th, 2010 by Ron Callahan 2 Comments

Day 2 of the planned media events for started much like the previous day. While the riders were doing their morning core workout with Todd Herriott, the journos were in the restaurant fueling up for the day. Some of my fellow colleagues from Cycle To, Road Bike Action, Pez and Velo News were milling about waiting for the day’s action to start.

I was up in my room getting packed to head home when I realized that it was nearly 10 a.m. and the team would be posing for a photo down by the mobile service course. I grabbed my trusty Nikon and headed downstairs just in time to snap some photos of my own. After the group shoot, the riders were quickly pulled aside to do some videos for component supplier . Then they loaded up their pockets with fruit and energy bars and got on the bikes for what was to be a five hour training ride in the Malibu hills.

There were plans to split the riders into two groups. There were a number of the lads that were getting ready to head to the Tour of Qatar (, , , Alexander Kristoff, Jackson Stewart, Simon Zahner, and ), so they were doing some special work together. In case you missed the other post, the ride was marred by the crash of Matthias Butler halfway through the ride.

Due to some, well let’s just call them infractions with traffic laws the previous day, the media was not allowed to go along for the ride today, so we were treated to a technical presentation on ’s bikes instead. That’s a post for another day, but here’s a new gallery from Thursday morning. Enjoy!

By the way, in case you missed the other post, the ride was marred by the crash of Mathias Frank halfway through the ride.
