Belgian Niko Eeckhout (An Post) won the fifth and final stage of the Etoile de Besseges, but it was Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis) who won the overall. Overnight race leader Arnaud Molmy abandoned before the start of the race due to gastroenteritis. This is Dumoulin’s first overall victory of the year and the 18th of his career; he won a stage in the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in January.
