Vania Rossi provisionally suspended by Ricardo Ricco

February 13th, 2010 by Al Fresco 2 Comments

In case you haven’t figured this out already, is a d*!$.

According to Italian site tuttobici, Ricco has separated from Rossi pending investigation into allegations stemming from a positive test for during the Italian National Cyclocross Championships. Rossi is the mother of Ricco’s seven month old son.

Ricco has denied any knowledge of her use of drugs and drew some raised eyebrows late last month when he told reporters that, “People know I don’t like her racing, you can imagine what I think about her taking anything.”

He says that there will be no reconciliation with her until she is proved innocent of the doping charges.

Ricco went on to say that he is “saddened” that the organizers of the Montepaschi, San Remo and Tirreno races have seemingly barred his new Ceramina-Flaminia team from their events, and said that he is innocent and has nothing to prove.
