2010 Volta al Algarve: Stage 1 Results

French victory on the streets of Portugal for Benoit Vaugrenard of Française des Jeux in the first stage of the Volta ao Algarve.
The opening stage ran 157.5 kilometers between the Estadio Algarve and Albufeira to 157.5 kilometers. Vaugrenard attacked the sprint group in final kilometer of the race and was able to hold off Spaniard Joan Horrach of the Katusha team. Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) completed the podium.
