Listen to Lance’s appearance on ESPN

March 19th, 2010 by Ron Callahan No Comment

As promised, Armstrong appeared on Tony Kornheiser’s show this morning. You can listen to the audio here.

Kornheiser apologized to all for going off on “one of my rants”. Did it feel genuine? About as genuine as ’ statement about his marital infidelity.

“These rants are over. Believe me.” Nope. Can’t.

Lance was the bigger man in the conversation, and to my ears, Kornheiser was quite deferential to Armstrong. If there’s any indication of this, Kornheiser played naive and acted surprised about the reach of modern media.

In a conversation before the on-air interview, Armstrong advocated bike lines above traffic. That won’t go over well with advocates, and while I think we all agree that more bike lanes are good, what we really need is a way for cyclists and cars to co-exist on the road.

Kornheiser said that his daughter bikes to work in Delaware. He would he feel if one of his listeners “tapped” her while she was riding?

The Kornheiser-Armstrong beer summit is in the plans.
