Schleck wins in Sint-Niklaas
The 25-year-old Andy Schleck won Friday’s natourcriterium in Sint-Niklaas.
The number two rider in the Tour de France left Jurgen Van den Broeck and Alexander Vinokourov behind at the finish. “I’m always happy to race in Belgium,” said Schleck at the start.
“I suffered in the Tour. Spa! Where Fabian Cancellara Tour closed down and made sure that I could still compete for the victory. I lost the Tour de France really in the prologue. This prologue does not lie. Any error punished and I made Rotterdam a three or four. But I also had my moments in the Tour. If I had had my brother with me, the ride into Paris would have been much different. ”
Schleck won Thursday’s natourcriterium in his home country of Luxembourg. “This for 60,000 people. A great atmosphere. Cycling lives not only in Belgium. You already saw that in the last Tour de Luxembourg.”
