HaveFunBiking.com Adds Mall of America Event Encouraging More To Bike
Working with a coalition of Minnesota based businesses and government agencies, HaveFunBiking.com will add a second bicycle event at the Mall of America (MOA), March 18-20, 2011. Nearly a half million people are expected to visit the Mall over that spring break weekend. So, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the bicycle industry and its lifestyle opportunities in a popular venue with International exposure.
Within the Mall’s six court areas, industry partners will interactively demonstrate just how fun, easy and safe biking can be. As visitors walk the Mall’s corridors they will find simulated trails, five-minute clinics for safe and healthy commuting to school or work and bicycle related games and prizes. We will also be distributing complimentary copies of the new 2011 MN Bike Event & Resource Guide and invite attendees to visit the Active Living Bike Expo, April 29 & 30, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
We are currently working with the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota, the State’s departments of Health, Transportation and Tourism and several bicycle industry partners to produce the 60,000 bike guides and the Active Living Bike Expo. Adding a second event at Mall of America will make it easier to meet our objective – persuading more to become active and bike. Limited space is still available at the Mall for companies wanting to gain more market share in the upper Midwest. Demographics show that this weekend at the MOA is very popular with young families who live within a 150 mile radius of the Twin Cities as a fun – getaway destination. A great place to encourage more to biking!
The 2011 Minnesota Biking Event & Resource Guide is an annual, four-color reference tool with content furnished by HaveFunBiking.com that includes information on bike events, where-to-ride maps and how-to-tips for safe biking in Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, Iowa and the Dakota’s. This popular, pocket-size, guide is a great companion piece when people are away from their computers. With a print date set for late January, there is still some advertising space available.
The Active Living Bike Expo, April 29 & 30, is in its second year at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, in St. Paul and benefits the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. Centrally located and convenient for cyclists within a 100 mile radius of the Twin Cities, this venue traditionally allows industry partners to come together, offering clinics and demos (inside and out) to assist both the novice and the tech savvy rider.
Mall of America is a super-regional shopping mall located in the Twin Cities suburb of Bloomington, Minn. The mall is located southeast of the junction of Interstate 494 and Minnesota State Highway 77, north of the Minnesota River and is across the interstate from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. It is the second largest mall in the United States in terms of retail space and receives over 40 million visitors each year.
