Competitor Group Honors Rebecca Rusch with Mountain Biker of the Year Award
Three-time 24-hr Solo World Mountain Bike Champion and back-to-back Leadville Trail Women’s Champion Rebecca Rusch adds another accolade to her list of endurance sports honors, with the Singletrack.com Mountain Biker of the Year title, presented by the Competitor Group.
In 2010, Rebecca solidified her place at the top of the mountain biking world by taking first place at races such as the Trans Andes and the USAS Masters XC World Championships. Her biggest success this year was her course record-breaking performance at the Lifetime Fitness Leadville Trail 100 race. Beating the women’s Leadville record by 7:47 minutes, Rebecca took first place for the second year in a row among a stacked field of the world’s best mountain bikers.
Rebecca will accept the Mountain Biker of the Year award at the annual Endurance LIVE Awards Gala at 7pm on Saturday, January 22nd at the Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown San Diego. In 2003 Rebecca was awarded Adventure Racer of the Year at the Endurance Live Awards Gala.
