June 21st, 2011 by Al Fresco One Comment

After a historic start to a season that saw the Euskadi team grabbing three stage wins, the team has announced the squad that will compete in the 98th edition of de France, starting on July 2 in the Vendée region of France. Igor González de Galdeano announced the team.

Samuel Sanchez, Egoi Martínez, , , Rubén Pérez, Iván Velasco, Alan Pérez and newcomers Gorka  and Izagirre will fight for the conquest of a triumph. “Winning a stage is the ultimate goal. Last year we had in hand, this year we can not be escaped. We know that the Tour will join the world’s best cyclists and history are men who have to stand before us, but also dream of reaching the podium. Last year we were very close to Samuel and is a dream that is present, “said the general manager of training.

The Tour de France has included a 23km in its course this year. To prepare for this exercise as much detail, the nine members of the group ‘Orange’ will focus on training specifically for this mode. Under the direction of Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano, the workshop will develop with time trial bikes on Wednesday June 22 in Rioja Alavesa. The training will start at 10.30 from wineries in Laguardia Launa and roll for three hours.
