World’s lightest cycle cable system set for launch

Io DuPont, Inc is now accepting preorders for the new Power Cordz Prime™, the lightest cable and in the world.

Prime™ offers feather- housing – half the weight of current steel housing – and the ™ cables that riders love, making it the lightest complete cable set on the market. The Prime™ system will ship Q4 2011 and transform the cycle industry once again.

Previously riders ran their Power Cordz™ through traditional steel housing, which was designed to carry the weight of heavier, . Consequently, the steel housing burdened the rider with . Seeing an opportunity, Io DuPont, Inc. worked closely with manufactures to create a Power Cordz™-specific housing that capitalized on the cable’s light-weight.

Weighing in at 18g/meter (4.5mm diameter), Power Cordz Prime™ housing offers a 16 gram weight loss overall compared to traditional steel systems. Prime™ housing is paired with the lightness and strength of Power Cordz™ – thousands of coated with a thin layer of nylon to ensure protection from damage or corrosion. Unlike steel cables, the result is a cable that is light and will not stretch – install them once and don’t touch them for years.

Also new for 2012 will be the inclusion of all nosed ferrules and grommet clasps, ensuring the Cordz are protected throughout the length of the  and function to their full potential. For customization, Cordz now come in
yellow, , red, black and white .
