USA Cycling Unveils Its 2013 National Championships Calendar

USA on Friday unveiled its 2013 national championship calendar, highlighted by several new locations for events.

“We are excited about all of our venues,” Vice President of National Events Micah Rice said. “Our new locations in , Pennsylvania and North Carolina have really stepped up and we’re looking forward to great events for our members. What’s also exciting is that our relationships with our existing venues continue to get stronger and those events will continue to grow.”

USA ’s span the gamut of the country’s most picturesque locales. From June 15-16, the nation’s premiere endurance riders will contest the USA 24-Hour in Gallup, N.M. On July 6, Sun Valley, Idaho, will host the USA . The USA Cross-Country spanning July 18-21 are slated for an eastern location as they will be at the Bear Creek Resort in Pennsylvania. From Aug. 2-4, the USA Gravity are scheduled to take place at the Angel Fire Resort in New .

For the first time, the BMX will be split into two events. The USA Elite BMX will be on May 18 at the Olympic Training Center in , Calif., before the amateurs take to the track in Nashville on June 1 for the USA Amateur BMX .

Elite track cyclists will display their talent at a pair of events on each coast two weeks apart. The USA Elite Timed Track will span Aug. 9-11 at the Velo Sports Center in Carson, Calif., before that group competes in Rock Hill, S.C., from Aug. 22-24 at the USA Elite Mass Start Track .

There is a pair of masters-only in 2013. The first spans July 30-Aug. 4 when the nation’s top 35-and-over riders ply their trade at the Major Taylor Velod in Indianapolis, Ind., for the USA Masters Track . From Sept. 4-8, the country’s top masters road cyclists will toe the line in Bend, Ore., for the USA Masters Road .

The lone juniors-only on the calendar, the USA Juniors Track , will be July 25-28 in Trexlertown, Pa.

The calendar also includes three collegiate-only . From May 3-5, the nation’s top collegiate road cyclists will descend on Ogden, Utah, for the USA Collegiate Road . The 2013 calendar year concludes with a pair of collegiate events. From Sept. 19-21, the top collegiate track cyclists will be in Colorado for the USA Collegiate Track . That event will be followed a month later by the USA Collegiate from Oct. 25-27 in Banner Elk, N.C.
