On today’s prologue in Driedaagse van West-Vlaandern, Team Saxo-Tinkoff’s Marko Kump crashed and was rushed to a nearby hospital for examinations:
“Marko was going at very high pace and apparently missed a curve. He crashed into the barrier and we took him to the hospital immediately where he was examined. It turns out he had suffered a complicated fracture of his nose as it was broken four different places, he had a concussion of the brain and a bruised knee. I’m sorry to say that it looks like 2-3 weeks off the bike,” said team doctor, Peter Lagrou.
