Third consecutive national title for Cannondale Pro Cycling’s Peter Sagan

The jersey of Slovak champion will remain on the shoulders of Peter Sagan. The talent of Cannondale Pro Cycling won today his third consecutive road race championship in Dubnica after 198 km (valid also for the Czech championship). On the finish line Sagan left behind Kovac, Tybor and the rest of the peloton. Seventh place for his brother Juraj.

“I’m really proud to be the national champion. Fans in Slovakia are really warm with me and take a win in front of them is a way to say thanks. Today I finished in the best way my road to the Tour de France. Feelings are good, better than Tour de Suisse, and the form is how I wanted. I had no chance to test me in massive sprit as will happen in France, but for sure I know I’ll be stronger on the climbs. I’ll try to exploit this advantage for the challenge for the green jersey with Cavendish, Greipel and the other pretenders” said Peter.

The Slovak championship is the 13th victory of the season for Sagan and the 49th in career. Cannondale Pro Cycling took his third national title after the ones won by Bodnar (Poland) and Vandborg (Denmark) in the time trial races. The seasonal success of the team are now 20.
