Boris joins Boris for Game, Set and Cycle

Tennis legend Boris Becker will join the Mayor of on the start line for the challenge of the inaugural Prudential Ride-Surrey 100 sportive on Sunday 4 August.

The six-time Grand Slam champion and his wife, Dutch model Lilly Kerssenberg, will join 20,000 riders in a cycling challenge like no other over a similar route to that of the 2012 Olympic Races.

The route starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, goes out through the capital and onto Surrey’s stunning country roads and hills before returning to and the finish on The Mall. View the route map here.

Becker, currently on BBC commentary duty at Wimbledon, is a keen .

“Cycling is my new sport,” said Becker. “My legs aren’t what they used to be so cycling has been great and my wife loves it too.

“I’ve seen the map and looked at the hills on the route. I’m going to start but I’m not sure where I’m going to finish!”
