Evans wins 4th stage, Dennis keep Alberta lead (AP)

 Cadel Evans won the fourth stage of the Tour of Alberta on Saturday, and fellow Australian Rohan Dennis held onto the overall lead with one leg left.

Evans, the BMC rider who won the 2011 Tour de France, finished the 105-mile stage in 3 hours, 57 minutes, 18 seconds. Germany’s Simon Geschke, riding for Argos-Shimano, was second in the same time.

Dennis, riding for Garmin-Sharp, was 15th in the stage, 9:44 behind. In the overall standings, Dennis has an 18-second lead over American Brent Bookwalterof BMC.

Dennis won the third stage Friday to take the lead.

Evans is 17th overall, 7:17 behind.
