Samuel Dumoulin wins the overall French Cup standings

Today, Samuel Dumoulin finished 2nd on the Tour de Vendée. He has been beaten in a sprint by Nacer Bouhanni but thanks to this 2nd place, the rider of the AG2R LA MONDIALE Pro Cycling Team wins the overall French Cup standings and thus, holds onto his title. Note this is the first time that a rider wins this Cup two years in a row.

Samuel Dumoulin said : “I was not able to obtain a better result today, so there was no reason to be disappointed by this 2nd place at the finish. I was above all very pleased to win the overall classification of the French National Cup, especially because there has been a lot of suspense throughout the season. To win this trophy, you have to obtain good results on each race and you have to work hard toward this goal. I was heavily involved mentally and I must say that the season starts to be long, fatigue makes itself felt! Today, the whole team did its best to help me and it’s always nice to see his own work and the collective work rewarded by a such win.”
