UCI finalizes ProTeam and Professional Continental registrations for 2014

Following on from the November 5th announcement in which the UCI announced the first 10 ProTeams that received license approvals for 2014, eight additional teams have received their licenses after deliberation by the License Commission.

The first ten teams registered were as follows:

  1. AG2R LA MONDIALE (FRA)
  2. BELKIN – PRO CYCLING TEAM (NED)
  3. BMC RACING TEAM (USA)
  4. CANNONDALE (ITA)
  5. FDJ.FR (FRA)
  6. GARMIN SHARP (USA)
  7. OMEGA PHARMA – QUICK STEP RACING TEAM (BEL)
  8. TEAM KATUSHA (RUS)
  9. TEAM TINKOFF SAXO (DEN)
  10. LOTTO BELISOL (BEL) (UCI decision of 25th November)

As a result of the hearings held on the 18th and 22nd of November, the Licence Commission decided to grant a UCI WorldTour licence to the following teams:

  1. ASTANA PRO TEAM (KAZ)          2014-2016
  2. LAMPRE – MERIDA (ITA)            2014-2015
  3. MOVISTAR TEAM (ESP)              2014-2016
  4. ORICA GREENEDGE (AUS)         2014-2016
  5. SKY PROCYCLING (GBR)            2014-2016
  6. TEAM EUROPCAR (FRA)             2014-2015

The Licence Commission also decided to grant registration for the 2014 season in 1st division to the following teams:

  1. TEAM ARGOS – SHIMANO (NED)
  2. TREK FACTORY RACING (USA) [licence transfer approved]

  9. MTN – QHUBEKA (AFS)
  10. RUSVELO (RUS)
  11. TEAM NETAPP – ENDURA (GER)
  12. TEAM NOVO NORDISK (USA)
  13. TOPSPORT VLAANDEREN – BALOISE (BEL)
  14. UNITEDHEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL CYCLING TEAM (USA)
