BMW p/b Happy Tooth Women’s Team to Ride Blue Bicycles

Blue Bicycles recently announced they will partner with BMW p/B The Happy Tooth to provide bikes for the 2015 season. The women’s squad will be aboard the Blue AC1 SL,  Axino SL, and a soon to be released time trial bike, with SRAM components and FFWD wheels.

A 010420151134 WMBikeworldnews.com recently reviewed the Axino SL, and found it to be a great update to Blue’s line up, and is definitely worthy of the pro ranks. The mix of aero enhancements to a great all-around bike will be a great choice for hilly days or criteriums.

“Premier Sports Group [BMW p/b The Happy Tooth’s management] is incredibly excited to partner with Blue Bicycles in supplying road and time trial framesets for it’s newly created professional women’s team,” said Omer Kem, General Manager of Premier Sports Group. Blue has been incredibly supportive of this endeavor and we feel we are being given absolute cutting edge equipment and hope the program is the perfect showcase for Blue’s marketing and racing objectives. We at Premier Sports Group would like to thank Steve Harad and Blue Bicycles for their commitment to the new program.”

The formation of the UCI Women’s team was announced earlier this year, and the team has been selected to ride in this year’s editions of the Women’s Amgen Tour of California. While the ATOC has held a women’s invitational time trial in the past, this year, a three day UCI 2.2 stage race will be held, with a UCI 1.1 time trial on the fourth day.

“One of the key missions at Blue Bicycles is to support cycling and be involved in it’s continued growth,” said Steve Harad, CEO of Blue Bicycles. “We see the women’s market as both a growing segment and an underserved one. Through sponsoring the team, and supporting them at races, we hope more women will get inspired to ride.”

The BMW p/b The Happy Tooth will field an international team of women. While the majority are Americans, there is also three Canadians, an Australian, and a Swiss rider.  The squad includes multiple former national champions, and along with the Principle of the Women’s Cycling Association (WCA), Robin Farina.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with the Premier Sports Group on their new endeavor of launching a professional women’s team,” explained Matt Reece, Director of Marketing of Blue Bicycles. “We can’t wait to see the team racing our new Axino road bike, the race proven AC1, and our soon to be released TT bike. We’re looking forward to a thrilling year of women’s racing and proud to be a part of it”
