Review: Showers Pass Alpine Jersey

  • Ron

W's-Alpine-Jersey-Black-unzippedI was stoked for my Shower's Pass  Alpine jersey to arrive!  Some people are okay with bearing the cold mornings just knowing that it'll warm up during their ride. Me, not so much. This jacket was worth its over my long ride, especially since I grabbed it a few hours later to cut through some nasty crosswinds.

Ladies, we're not just fair weather riders, so why should our clothes be? We deserve different clothing for different weather/ rides/ terrain/ humidity/ wind/ precipitation/ perspiration/ temperatures/ restaurants/ bars/ crushes.

IMHO, this jersey beats out the short sleeve + arm warmer option, the half zip long sleeve jersey (that you can't fit a short sleeve jersey under anyhow).  It also trumps the hi- vis neon yellow jacket that most roadies are known for, that is if you're an urbanite trying to look cool.

Not only does the Alpine have , fit sleek and sexy, but it also performs well.  It kept me comfortably warm in the mornings, yet not broiling in the afternoon.  I dug the mesh pit vents (who doesn't, right?) and the Coolmax back lining was clutch, especially if you've got a pack or messenger bag. As for the color (I wore the black; they do have a red option), I don't normally wear all black up top when riding, however, with the 13 subtle yet effective reflective elements they've weaved in to this design,  I felt pretty comfortable.

Visual note pertaining to the black jersey:  The image online shows the Shower's Pass logo on the back of the jersey pretty prominently.  I've worn, washed, dried, and folded mine multiple times now and didn't even notice the logo.  They note online that's its only visible to headlights.

In summation, the Showers Pass Alpine Jersey is the bomb.  We had a great Spring Fling together.
