Vittoria Corsa Speed Open TLR verified as fastest tire in the world

  • Ron

Vittoria is proud to announce that independent testing by bicyclerollingresistance.com has verified that their Vittoria Corsa Speed Open TLR is the fastest road bike tire in the world.

Giving it a rating of 5/5 and highly recommending the tire, the testers came to the conclusion that, “the Vittoria Corsa Speed Open TLR is the fastest road bike tire in the world at the moment.” They went on to recommend the tire saying, “If you have tubeless-ready wheels and want the fastest tires, look no further and get a set of these.”

At bicyclerollingresistance.com, all bicycle tires are tested on a rolling resistance machine with a 77 cm drum and a 120W electric motor. The drum is covered with diamond plate to simulate an average road surface.

Measurements are taken with an Arduino microcontroller and special software. The Arduino calculates the average power required to keep the drum at 200 RPM over a period of 30 seconds. Using a microcontroller to measure input power results in a very accurate measurement.

After a warm-up period of 30 minutes, this test is run three times. They then calculate the average of these three runs. After a correction for the electric motor efficiency and subtraction of the power required to spin the drum and wheel to 200 RPM, the result is the rolling resistance of the tire.

At an air pressure of 120 psi / 8.3 bars, the rolling resistance of the Vittoria Corsa Speed Open TLR is just 7.7 watts (CRR: 0.0023) per tire. No other tire tested so far by bicyclerollingresistance.com has a rolling resistance under 8 watts.
