Track Worlds Update

After qualifying second earlier today, Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo./Trek-Livestrong) became the first American to win back-to-back elite men’s world titles on the track, re-capturing the rainbow jersey in the 4-kilometer individual pursuit Thursday night in Denmark.

Broken collarbone for Iljo Keisse

The 27-year-old track cyclist and recent Quick Step signing Iljo Keisse fell during a training ride in the Danish capital of Copenhagen, and suffered a broken collarbone from the heavy fall.

U.S. riders picked up 27 at the 2009 UCI Masters Track World Championships last week. The event, held in Sydney, Australia from Oct. 19-24, featured cyclists age 30 and above battling it out for world titles in the time trial, individual pursuit, scratch race, team time trial, sprint, and points race events.
