  • Reuters is reporting that police from Germany’s Federal Crime Office have raided the homes and labs of two doctors that used to work for the T-Mobile team. While no evidence was found linking them to Jan Ullrich, this comes shortly on the heels of former T-Mo rider Patrick Sinkewitz testifying that some of his teammates doped in 2006. He stated that the doping was not systematic, but that several riders sought doping products on their own.
  • Spain’s cycling union wants legal and scientific guarantees for riders before accepting the UCI’s new biological passport program. On the other side of the fence, the UCI’s Pat McQuaid sees this as further evidence that Spain does not want to battle against doping.
  • Spanish rider and winner of the 2007 Tour de France, Alberto Contador, won his last race in Discovery Channel colors, taking the Spanish Professional Riders Association championship (scroll down).
  • The U.S. will get seven starting spots for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Only Levi Leipheimer is presently confirmed for the team.
  • The UCI has made some adjustments to its 2008 North American Continental race calendar. Some new additions are the American Eagle Outfitters Tour of Pennsylvania in June and the Colorado Stage Race in August. No mention of the still in development Tour of America.
