Team Slipstream-Chipotle was dealt a major blow today as Magnus Backstedt, one of the team’s leaders, went down in a crash in the final 500 meters and broke his collarbone.

Tom Boonen managed to hold on to his leader’s jersey today, but saw yet another Italian rider, Danilo Napolitano (Lampre) slip by him in the final few meters.
