In a recent post, I mentioned that I was starting to build a bike for my wife.
Well…. that frame didn’t work out too well. First of all, it was not the size that the seller said it was. It was scratched up far more than he said. And… the right rear dropout slot was screwed up.
I was able to get a wheel into the dropouts with some work, but I decided that, overall, it really wouldn’t work. I e-mailed the seller, and he, very generously, refunded my money and told me to keep the frame.
I still wanted to get my wife a bike, though, so I took advantage of a sale at Peformance Bike and picked up one of their house brands with a carbon fork and integrated headset for $199. This was an all-around better deal and will, I think, make a better bike.
Stay tuned.
