It’s Not About The Bike, or The Weather, or How You Feel..

… Why Aren’t You Riding?

I just finished reading Lance Armstrong’s book “It’s Not About The Bike.”

If you haven’t read it yet, it gives a good overview of how he got into cycling and how he dealt with the onset and aftermath of cancer.  When Lance had nothing left to prove, when he could have taken disability insurance and found something new to do, he took the risk to take and pay cut and get back on the bike and keep on riding. Furthermore, while undergoing chemo, he still managed to get out and ride.

It made we wonder why I have trouble dragging my butt off of the couch to go ride. While the weather around here has not been the best, it hasn’t been completely miserable either. I’ve been in good health (no pneumonia this year (yet)!), I haven’t been called for jury duty and I don’t have surgery scheduled.

For me, riding is both fun and therapeutic. I feel happier and more productive when I do it. It’s time. ÂĽ/p>
