One time Lance Armstrong rival Filippo Simeoni does not recognize Lance’s comeback. “A big champion must know when enough is enough.”

Simeoni blames Armstrong for his lackluster career and inability to get signed to a major team. Even after winning the Italian National Championships in June, he has not been able to find a ride with a major team and he may not even be invited to the Giro to wear the tricolore.

Armstrong responds that, “To say my name wasn’t in the press since I left racing is ridiculous. And I don’t need Simeoni’s permission to come back. My intent is pure, it’s a reality, and we are moving forward with it.” “It’s not my fault if Simeoni doesn’t have a team and is not accepted into the Giro,” Armstrong said. He continues, “If you are the Italian national champion and you don’t have a team, I think it says something about you, not about me.” (Velo News)
