Here’s the low-hanging fruit for today; Jurgen Van de Broeck breaks collarbone at training camp, 2010 TdF starts in Rotterdam, unknown second substance in Keisse’s urine, a just a little more:

  • Jurgen Van den Broeck broke his left collarbone today in a fall at Silence-Lotto’s training camp. He will have surgery tomorrow. (Sportwereld.be)
  • It had been rumored, but it’s now official that the 2010 Tour de France will start in Rotterdam. The race will start on Saturday, July 3 with a 9km individual time along the Meuse. A day later the race departs from Rotterdam on the Erasmus Bridge, and heads towards Zealand. (Sport.be)
  • Riis Racing has dismissed 5 administrative personnel in a move largely intended to address budget issues with the loss of the sponsorship of IT Factory. (Sportwereld.be)
  • Ivan Rana is the latest addition to the Xacobeo Galicia team. Rana was the world champion in triathlon in the year 2000 and completed 5th in at this year’s Olympic Games. (Sportwereld.be)
  • Iljo Keisse is still waiting to hear about the results of the B-sample from the six Days of Ghent. He has been told that there were traces of Cathine, an ephedrine-like stimulant, but there are traces of second product that has yet to be revealed. Cathine is present in various cold medications, and in 2005, Jan Kuyckx was acquitted after he tested positive on the product. (Sportwereld.be)
  • Golazo Sports, a firm that represented the commercial interests of Keisse has dropped him from their representation. (Sport.be)
