Nicolas Roche extends with AG2R La Mondiale through 2011

Nicolas Roche has extended his contract with AG2R La Mondiale for another year. The Irishman, who was already under contract for the 2010 season with Vincent Lavenu’s team has committed for another season.

The 2009 Irish National Champion had a successful season in 2008 with a number of high stage placings at the Vuelta and continued his success in 2009 with 5 top 10 finishes in the Tour de France. His highest placing at the Tour was 2nd in a stage and he took 23rd place overall, finishing 5th in the Young Rider classification. He also made strong showings at the Tour of Catalonia and the Criterium du Dauphiné Libéré.

Lavenu believes in the talent of young Irishman and hopes ton continue with him on his team for a while.
