KEEN presented their expanded Spring/Summer ‘10 Pedal Collection, which meets the needs of cyclists with stylish, comfortable shoes, sock and bags that are ready to roll. The Pedal collection includes KEEN cycling favorites, as well new styles that will enhance the biking life. New Spring/Summer ‘10 pedal styles will be available in stores January 2010.

Pedal Footwear

With the Newport, KEEN redefined where a sandal could take you. The Commuter is built on this same concept. This SPD-compatible sandal was designed to offer classic KEEN comfort and protection and features a cycling-specific slimmer shape, easy to adjust static lacing system and hook-and-loop instep strap. The Commuter is comfortable on the street and efficient on the bike. Clip in and go with the Springwater, the first closed-toe cycling shoe from KEEN. Moisture wicking lining keeps your feet dry. The removable metatomical footbed provides personalized comfort for the long haul.

The Keen Austin

Evolving from these two popular KEEN cycling styles are the men’s Austin Pedal and the women’s Presidio Pedal, both combine function with street-smart style. The SPD-compatible Austin Pedal is ready for urban adventures both on and off the bike. The waterproof leather with classic Oxford lace design disguises the bike-ready performance of a recessed SPD plate underfoot. The Austin comes prepared for long commutes with a moisture wicking lining and toe-protecting rubber outsole.

The women’s Presidio Pedal blends the outsole construction of a lightweight hiking shoe, the style of a downtown street shoe with the SPD-compatible performance of a bike shoe. This makes it the perfect partner for enjoying an active summer. A full grain waterproof leather upper with durable top stitched construction and a soft leather lining offer style and comfort. A recessed SPD plate allows for clipless efficiency, while an anti-microbial metatomical footbed and rugged outsole with toe coverage provide support and protection.

The Keen Coronado "cruiser" shoe

KEEN also introduces the Coronado Cruiser for both men and women. True to its “Cruiser” name, this style has comfort, practicality and laid-back style. This shoe takes the features of a favorite beach bike and wraps it around the foot. The Coronado Cruiser combines breathable canvas, soft leather and recycled rubber to make a relaxed summer shoe. The sole hides a panel of soft rubber under the ball of the foot to better grip the pedals.

New this season, KEEN delivers its first bike specific sock. The men’s and women’s Springwater Low Cut Tab Ultralite sock combine comfort and performance with left and right foot specific design for optimal fit. This sock has soft and breathable merino fibers that wick and dry fast for blister-proof protection. The instep features a mesh weave for extreme breathability, while strategically placed, bike-specific cushioning under the forefoot and on the ankle provide impact cushion and Achilles comfort.

The Keen Steel Bridge

KEEN has created a new bike-ready bag called the Steel Bridge. This daypack has a waterproof liner and hood for weather protection. The padded laptop sleeve holds most 17-inch laptops. The main compartment has secure zippered pocket, plus there is a front zippered organizer pocket, a quickaccess zippered stash pocket on lid, and two extra deep side bottle pockets. The bag also features reflective hits for safety on front and sides of bag and a removable hipbelt.

The Keen Commuter

In addition to the Steel Bridge, KEEN offers the Commuter. The Commuter is a shoulder bag with an adjustable sternum strap that includes a 15-inch padded and suspended laptop sleeve. The main compartment is water-resistant has reflective hits for safety. In addition, there are water bottle pockets on both sides.
