Coming off of a strong first year that saw series champions Ryan Trebon and Georgia Gould capture the individual titles, as well as the coveted “NACT champions belts,” the North American Cyclocross Trophy announced its 2009 schedule with expansion to Canada.
The 2009 season will include 10 events:

As if there weren’t already enough evidence proving regular exercise is good for you, a new study suggests ditching the car and walking, riding a bike or using mass transit can help prevent obesity.
In what might seem like a “Duh!” moment, David Bassett of the University of Tennessee and John Pucher of Rutgers University found a strong link between “active transportation” and obesity rates in 17 industrialized nations.

The 2008 Ironman Championship takes place this weekend, and as usual, everyone’s chances are wide open. You only need to look at last year’s race when Chrissie Wellington came out of nowhere to win. That said, I’ve taken a look at the results from the past year and, shall we say, handicapped the race (don’t ask me for odds – I’m no statistician).
