Alexandre Vinokourov would be willing to break his cycling career to be the manager of Astana next year, but UCI president Pat McQuaid says that if Vino takes that step, Astana would lose its Pro Tour license.

Just my opinion, here, but I have to wonder if Bruyneel’s moves (or lack thereof) are intended to allow Contador to get out of his Astana and contract and to possibly smooth over some of the difficulties between Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong.
