Cyclocross World Champion Lars Boom (Rabobank) won the 3rd round of the World Cup cyclo-cross, Sunday at Pijnacker. This was the first win this season for the 22 year old Dutchman. Niels Albert (Palmans) took second place and Belgian champion Sven Nys (Landbouwkrediet) took 3rd. Another Belgian, Bart Wellens, ranked 4th.

It was classic cyclocross racing in Koppenberg today. This was a the first major European race this season to see rain and mud, resulting in riders covered from head to toe, low speed crashes, slippery run-ups and more.
Sven Nys edged out Lars Boom for the win, with Niels Albert coming across about 45 seconds later.
