Giro d’Italia 2008 - Stage 6 Results

Today’s stage from Potenza to Peschici starts and ends with climbing, with a fairly long, flat section in the middle. The race organizers listened to the riders and shortened today’s stage by removing the Circuito del Gargano. This will allow the riders to get back to their hotels earlier for meals and massages. Tom Boonen (Quick Step) wins the stage and the overall race in the final stage of the Tour of Qatar. He narrowly edged out Alberto Loddo (Tinkoff Credit Systems) & Luciano André Pagliarini Mendonca (Saunier Duval-Scott) in the final sprint at Doha Corniche.
