The Tour du Haut Var is this weekend in France. The teams and riders for the race have been announced. A total of 18 teams will start the race, including 10 from the Pro Tour.
As we noted in the daily news, Alejandro Valverde has been added to the roster for Caisse d’Epargne, but we don’t know who he is replacing.
The race is one for the mountain specialists and there will be little or no opportunity for the sprinters to make their mark. Saturday’s stage is 171km and includes 3 Category …

The teams and rosters have been announced for the 36th edition of the Tour of the Mediterranean Sea, starting tomorrow.
The race has seen a rise in its UCI classification, and as such, they have increased the amount of climbing in the race, with the final stage from Nice to Mont-Faron culminating in a mountaintop finish.
Favorites for the race include Spaniard Jose Ivan Gutierrez (Caisse d’Epargne), who won the race and will have two helpers in the person of Oscar Pereiro and Luis Leon Sanchez at his side. Also on …

Vladimir Efimkin (Ag2r La Mondiale) and Travis Meyer (UniSA) held onto a break for most of the day, but at the end, it was Allan Davis (Quick Step) narrowly edging out Graeme Brown (Rabobank) in the final sprint. Luis Leon Sanchez (Caisse d’Epargne) took third place from local hero Stuart O’Grady (Saxo Bank).
Tomorrow is a big climbing day, and that may tip the scales in Stuart O’Rady’s favor.
