We’ve given a fair bit of coverage to the new Cervelo S3 on these pages, but how about the 2009 Orbea Orca that was under gold medal winner Samuel Sanchez?
The 2009 Orca sees a 10% reduction in weight while gaining 20% more stiffness. The advances have been achieved through a mixture of M40j and M30s carbon fiber from Toray. The M30s fiber, in particular, is said to gives greatly increase the durability of the frame, to better absorb vibrations and to optimize the transmission of strength.

A couple of days ago, we noted that Fabian Cancellera and some others were riding a new Cervelo for the Olympic road race. Cervelo made it seem that there would not be any additional information about the bike for several weeks, but I received an e-mail this morning letting me know that I could buy one at Competitive Cyclist.
