Covington, KY approves permanent cyclocross course

The city of Covington, Kentucky, just outside of Cincinnati, became the state’s second city to commit to year ‘round cyclocross bicycle racing when the city commissioners, in a meeting shown on live television, approved plans for a permanent cyclocross park in Devou Park.

EuroCrossCamp to sponsor USGP Mercer Cup and Stanley Portland Cup

The organizers of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross have announced that EuroCross Camp will sponsor the USGP UCI 17/18 races at the upcoming Mercer Cup and Stanley Portland Cup.

Saratoga Springs, NY – The series that stoked the exponential growth of cyclocross in the United States – the U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross – has announced its dates for the upcoming season. The 2009 Series returns for a third year to Louisville, KY, Mercer Co., NJ and Portland, OR. The USGP is also pleased to announce its expansion to a fourth weekend of racing with the addition of the Planet Bike Cup in Madison, WI to its lineup.

The Cincinnati International Cyclocross Festival presented by Ohio Valley Cyclocross will be happening October 10th, 11th, and 12th at three separate locations in the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio tristate area. This is the only three-day ‘cross festival in the world other than the Christmas Week event in Belgium. Georgia Gould, an Olympian and multi-time mountain bike and cyclocross champion will be competing at all three events of the festival. Katie Compton, her longtime rival in the elite women’s division will also be there.
