I think that at this point I’ve used every major brand of roof rack and truck bed rack available. For me, the hitch mounted rack made the most sense, and the Kuat NV fit the bill.

Updated maintenance book in step with the times

Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance was already a great resource that was well organized and provided plenty of illustrations, but the updated 3rd edition addresses the latest technical advances in cycling.

Review: Ellsworth’s Scant offers a carbon fiber alternative

While my initial impression was that the bike was a little more harsh than some of the carbon fiber bikes I’d recently tested, I found over time that the Scant was very responsive and used every ounce of power you could give it. Aggressive corners were handled with aplomb and the entire package allowed me to push the bike to higher speeds than I would normally achieve.

Recall Notice: REI Novara Trionfo bicycles

REI and the US CPSC announced a recall of about 260 Novara Trionfo road bicycles. The fork can separate from the steerer tube which can cause the rider to lose control, posing a fall hazard.

Trek and Cannondale recall 17,500 bikes

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Trek and Cannondale, has issued a voluntary recall of about 17,500 bikes specced with JD suspension forks, made in Taiwan.
